Tripod French Bulldog Saved From Slaughterhouse Flies To The U.S. To Be With Her Forever Family
Pearl was rescued from a meat truck. She was missing her left front leg and was in terrible shape. Her skin was covered with scabs, and her eyes were infected.
Rescuers from Slaughterhouse Survivors rook Pearl to their hospital, where she was immediately treated. But because of the pup’s poor condition, they weren’t too optimistic that she’d make it. Surprisingly, Pearl recovered in a short time.
Two months after her rescue, Pearl was deemed healthy and strong to travel. With the help of Road Dogs & Rescue, the adorable French bulldog flew from China to California, where her foster mom waited for her arrival. We were so relieved to Tripod a French bulldog saved from a slaughterhouse.
“Pearl is a relaxed dog,” said Leah, Pearl’s foster mom. “She’s just so easy going.”
At first, Leah had worries about fostering Pearl. She has three dogs herself, and she had no idea how they accept a new dog. Likewise, she didn’t know if Pearl would be ok being around them. But soon enough, Leah’s worries all faded away.
Pearl transitioned smoothly into her new environment. She met with Leah’s dogs, and they all liked each other. While her disability made it difficult to move around, it never stopped Pearl from doing what she wants.
Before long, Leah started accepting adoption applications for Pearl. With Cheryl, another volunteer at Road Dogs & Rescue, they reviewed all applications and found Ashley as the best fit for Pearl.
Ashley is a veterinarian who lives in New York City. She had no plans of adopting a dog at that time, but when she saw Pearl’s photos online, she knew she had to help her.
Ashley drove from NYC to Allen Town, Pennsylvania, to meet with Cheryl and pick Pearl up. And she couldn’t be more smitten after finally meeting Pearl in person.
“My heart melted when I saw her and touched her,” said Ashley. “I wanted to reassure her that this is it. She’d be in her permanent home.” and finally tripod a French bulldog rescued from a slaughterhouse. Happy ends.
